TWIS # 15 Milestone

TWIS #15
           This week in science we did the marshmallow challenge. This time my group had a different approach. We build a base with 4 noodles and taped them to the table real good. Then we taped the brown bag it came with to the middle. Then we went up from there. We put another base on top of the bag and used the last noodles to connect the marshmallow to the bag. The next day we did blog post for our 10th grade year.

         

         This week in science I learned how good at communicating me and my friends really are. We had to communicate silently while doing the marshmallow challenge and we communicated very well. I learned that the first way we built or tower was more affective. The tower we first built was more stronger. It was able to hold up the marshmallow in the end. Even though we didn't build it very high. And the reason for that is because we used the standard structure to build an actual building in real life.

TWIS #12

          This week in science my group and i designed a habitat for my cellar spider. We went to the park, gathered some leaves and sticks and put them into the habitat. I then searched up what cellar spiders eat. Then i witnessed a cellar spider wrap up a fruit fly plenty of times and then take a bite out of it. Then i made an observation log where i put things about my spider.
          This week in science i learned that cellar spiders have spots. I didn't realize it until my third day with the spider. I learned that cellar spiders dont touch the ground much. Every time i see my spider it is on its webs in the same corner. They are lazy. This week i learned about energy pyramids. I had no idea how important animals like polar bears were to humans. If one species dies, it affects all species.

This week in science #11

          This week in science me, marayo, essence, and maria made a spider habitat for a cellar spider. First we made a sketch of what we want it to look like. Next we went to the park, collected some things for the habitat like wood, leaves, and some dirt. When we finished that we drew a sketch of what it looked like. It looked nothing like what the first sketch looked like. We then answered some questions that david gave us. This is what i did in sciende.
          This week in science I learned that Cellar spiders look alot like the daddy long legs spider but it has 8 legs insted of 6. I learned that the spider bounces around before a fight to warn the opponent. I think its funny because it reminds me of Mc Hammer. I also learned that it can spin alot of webs around its opponent within a minute. Cellar spiders bite humans. When the cellar spiders bite their venom leaves a tingling sensation. Thats what I learned this week in science.

         The design I chose was a basic lettered design. I Put the word Waste in yellow meaning its bad and put Place in green meaning its good to put waste where it belongs.

This week in science #9

          This week in science I dissected a frog for the fist time. I actually liked it. I didn't think I would like it. Me and my partner Morayo took and drew pictures of the frogs. I took out every organ and took the arms off. The only thing that was left was the head, spine, and legs. For some reason I decided to pop the eyes. Weird.

          

          This week in science I learned that frogs eyes are actually blue. I learned that frogs have strong bodies from all the hopping they do. They have six packs. Which is also weird. I thought only humans could get that. I learned that a frog pretty much has the same organs we do but their organs are placed differently. I also learned that I love to dissect things and I want to do more. PLEASE DAVID GIVE US BETTER ANIMALS TO DISSECT !!
          The 2 organisms dissected at my table were the mouse and the frog. One part of the frog that the mouse had was the heart. They were both located around the neck of the organism. Another part was the stomach. They were both located in the middle area of the organism. The last part that im gonna talk about is the lungs. Both were located on the sides of the organism. The differences were the skin tone, size, shape, and other features. In other words the dont look alike at all.
